Her Stylish Bob

The first time I met her , she was hugging and playing with my daughter. I went close to my daughter but she was so happy with her. I introduced myself to her stating that I was the mother of the baby she was holding. She started speaking words of adulation for my daughter , describing how much she adored her. Then I asked her name & she told me her name and her son’s name who was a school mate of my daughter.

I would keep running into her whenever I would go to pick my daughter up from play-school . She would have the same pleasant smile and a lot of affection for my little toddler. But more than anything I would notice her short hair. A bob which made her look quite stylish and she would carry it with a lot of grace. I would always wonder, with my long hair, if I could ever look as good with such a hair style . But believe me this women looked awesome.

She would always be at the back of my mind, her pleasant smile and smart demeanour .We happened to meet during the independence day celebration at the school. She told me again how much she adored my daughter. I had forgotten her name by then but couldn’t bring myself to ask her. I noticed her chubby-cheeked son . He was really cute and an year older than my daughter . On the same day, the school was also celebrating Rakshabandhan. She specifically told me and the teachers that my daughter was not to tie a Rakhi on her son’s wrist. She thought that my daughter was too cute to be her son’s sister!

There was music and dancing at that function and in the end the teachers, the students and the parents were expected to dance, but no one was willing to take to the floor. She was the first amongst the parents to hit the floor & I followed suit. Later we exchanged numbers. I added her on facebook and saw her pictures. She had hair as long as mine. I wrote on her page “ though you look wonderful in this haircut, you had such lovely hair!”

A few days back I called her out of the blue and in the course of that conversation she told me that she had had brain-tumour and that was the reason for her short hair. A person so pleasant and lively had gone through so much pain, but had never let-on to anyone. Kudos to the short-haired lady. You ROCK

the actors (drivers) of my life

Am an Indian girl. Born in a family where my birth's celebration was clubbed with my great grandmother's funereal feast.
My mother was the Guinea Pig of the family)People could treat her the way they wanted to )My father was a rich man's son but was given a meager pocket money in which he had to manage his wife and family. However, he was a stud ;) so he managed to work outside the family business and gave us everything we ever wanted.I have a younger sister who is a sensitive person. Although bad at math she calculates every move in life and thinks of the positive and the negative integers. My husband makes me a lucky bitch. I got all the freedom in life I ever dreamed of. He gave me wings to fly. Love u darling! In a nutshell i have seen both, the highs and the lows in life.

friends spaced out but friends forever

Well this is about a dear friend who joined my school in 5th grade.I was an average student but she was exceptionally good. She would not back out of anything, and I guess some of her smarts & guts rubbed off on me. Soon she became the apple of the eye of many teachers. She had a designer hand writing; very different, wont call it beautiful. She became a part of my family and I a part of hers. She was the one who motivated me to sat YES to my husband when he as a 16 yr old started making eyes at the 13 yr old me. I was in 8th grade then.
One day ,she shocked me by telling me that her father had been transferred to another city and that she needed to move with him. That broke my heart. It felt as if the salt of my life had been taken away. However life goes on. Thanks to technology we managed to keep in touch. Can't recall when we lost touch and how. Then again the fairy called Technology brought us back together again.
Recently my parents stayed with her in Philli. They were very proud of her achievements and praised her to the high heavens. Well she deserves this & more . For being a wonderful human being besides being very very bright. Hey babe, u rock!

she moma

Hi
Well am a 27 year old girl -women( i hate to accept it).Born to an Indian couple. They have given me the best they could. But I would especially mention my mother. She has gone to gr8 lenght to nurture me.as I was her first child and had younger sister, she did her all that she could to give me company.Although a task master sometimes she misconstrue me but still nothing compared to her love for me.She managed to feed me by hand till date every morsel of my meal.I have been very unreasonable with her.Could not mange to be a good daughter. However, she never expected me to be 1.As a child i would ask her "what do u expect me to become as an adult?"
She said that "I want u to be a good human being."Mom would paint clothes for me, make invites for my teenage parties. She is simply superb. At this juncture of her life she is completely torn and needs me.But i can't be there as I am busy being independent and need to attend to my
career.I miss u MOM.I hope I could do all I could for you and specially be physically present.U r a strong person and will overcome all odds.U have made this strong person that I am.I am proud to be ur daughter.Love u soooooooo much
